This year we rebranded the ‘Summer School’ that we have been running annually since 2003 as ‘Essence School of Worship & Mission’. The school explores the dynamics of worship and mission through 3 Streams; Movement, Rhythm and the Spirit-Led Outreach. It connects land, people and the Holy Spirit through worship, intercession, the prophetic, dream interpretation and more.
It was great to return for more Scottish adventures hosted by David and Maggie at Wellsprings in Newcraighall on the outskirts of Edinburgh. “Family” characterised the group on this school as long standing members warmly welcomed in and brand new people of varying ages both in the school and when we went out to the community.
It was a real joy to return to Edinburgh Castle and it felt easy to worship there and the rhythm and movement was well received by the tourists visiting. We also had good times on the Royal Mile and a lovely afternoon on the Portobello Promenade engaging with many people from the community.
The school finished by transitioning from the teaching section of the week into a ‘Next Wave’ continuous worship event. This time included our final outreach, a Spirit.Rhythms event where we invited the local community into the worship venue where there was a drum circle with movement, a range of prophetic evangelism tools were keenly received by those who came.
