Andy Au’s Budapest Adventure: Feb 2015

The adventure started a few weeks before when Noel messaged me about joining him in Budapest for a concert celebrating his 60th Birthday.

Noel and an inter-denominational organisation called ‘Today is the day’ have been working together since the Wembley Stadium ‘Champion of the World’ event in 1997. They have been putting on events since then drawing about 10-20 thousand people to the different events. They wanted to celebrate what he had done for Hungary. Noel contacted me feeling that I really needed to be there to meet these people. He has never urged me in this way before, ever, so I took note.

Yvonne (my wife) and I decided to go and make our own birthday celebration of it, it was also Yvonne’s birthday.

On arriving we were so welcomed into the country in a very efficient and warm way. We immediately met Viktor and his wife and began to realise what an impact the Wembley event was still having in Budapest.

The time was a whirlwind of meeting people and making connections. We probably have open doors for Movement in Worship in Budapest, Croatia, Slovakia and even more in Germany. God is certainly opening doors for us all over the world. On top of all of that we had a wonderful time of worship in the Aquarium Centre, a new gigging venue in the middle of the city, it was a sell out concert.

I am sure that we will be back in Budapest soon, they would like us to worship on the streets for a few days and then do a large event. I can see that we can begin to outwork the vision of British and German teams working together in mission across Europe. We already had a mini taster in Europe Ablaze in Lagos, Portugal. Lets see if we can begin to make a difference in the middle of Europe.

It was a privilege to be part of a movement that had such a passion for the nations.
