This year’s Peace Experiment seems increasingly to be becoming both a Peace Adventure and a Peace Experience!
For some it’s the adventure of stepping out, taking the courage to speak peace; for others the adventure of travelling to places we didn’t expect to go to, or enjoying 1-to-1 video conversations with friends we hardly knew. For some of the people we have spoken or prayed peace over, their circumstances have been impacted by the kindness of Jesus. They, with us, have experienced the peace of God.
Here’s some feedback from our travels:
Colchester: The Peace Experiment arrived in Colchester in August! What a blessing it was to host a visiting team member at my home and church as they poured out the love and peace of Jesus over us all. Upon arrival, peace was spoken over my home.
On Sunday, our guest shared in the church service and offered a powerful poem that truly resonated with the congregation—encouraging a deeper love for Jesus and for one another. We also visited a well-known local beauty spot—Flatford Mill, the site where the famous ‘Haywain’ painting was created.
To add to the joy, several members of the local community came together for meals in the garden. It was a wonderful weekend filled with peace, fellowship, and the grace of Jesus!
Leipzig: Travelling from the UK and other parts of Germany, we gathered in Leipzig, meeting up with one of our group and their family.
One highlight was a short UMV-focused workshop brought together familiar faces and new inspiration. One participant who first experienced Essence over a decade ago returned — a reminder of how deep and lasting the impact of Movement in Worship can be. The whole group quickly found their rhythm, moving together! True to the MIW approach — there was dynamic flow and adapting in the moment — the team embraced it with grace and spontaneity and in different languages.
Brazil: In October, three members of the English Online Base travelled to Brazil with the purpose of praying peace over the home of one of our online participants. God clearly had even more in store! Doors opened to connect with local pastors and churches, join outreach, and share in worship. It was a whirlwind of blessings—and the sweetest part was finally getting to meet our friend and their family in person!
We look forward to sharing more stories of the Peace Experiment with you.
